Manage content assignment

This feature allows you to view, add, or edit the current status of content assignments, deadlines, or access periods filtered by content, groups, or users. All assignment records can be exported to a CSV file.

Note

If you subscribed to the Customization option prior to September 17, 2025, you will be able to use this function by adding the menu in the Manage menu within the Site customizer.

Screen layout

This page has the following two tabs:

  • Search by content: Review configuration status by content.
  • Search by group/user: Review configuration status by group or user.

Key terminology:

The terms displayed on the Manage content assignment page are defined as follows:

  • Group (Indirectly assigned) : Indicates that settings applied to a parent group are currently active for the subgroup being viewed.
  • Unmanaged group: Indicates that settings are applied to a higher-level group that falls outside your permissions.
  • Unmanaged content: Indicates that settings are applied to higher-level content that falls outside your administrative permissions.

Search by content

Select the Search by content tab.
The courses covered by your permissions will appear on the left side of the page.
Click the dropdown arrow to display folders and content in the course.
Click on your target course, folder, or specific content.

The following explain each of the group and user tab.

Group tab

The Group tab allows you to review and manage the settings of target groups under your permissions, organized by content.

01. UI display overview

For each group, you can review the assigned status, deadline, access period, and whether settings have been directly applied to that specific group in a single list.
You can also show archived groups by ticking the box under the Group tab.

Note

▼Assigned status
You can view the assigned status for the selected course and the number of content assiged.
Each status is as follows:

  • All assigned
    *For content, Assigned will appear.
  • Partially assigned
  • Not assigned

 

▼Deadline
The Deadline column includes the course deadline status, countdown start date, and deadline.
Each status is as follows:

  • Before deadline
  • Countdown start date expired
  • Deadline expired
  • No deadline

*If a parent group configures the settings, you can view the original settings by clicking the link.

▼Access period
You can view the course availability.
Each status is as follows:

  • Scheduled
  • Active
  • Ended
  • Unlimited

*If a parent group configures the settings, you can view the original settings by clicking the link.

▼Direct group settings
You can verify whether each item has been configured directly for the group.
If the setting is active, a tick mark (✔) will appear.

Note

Each content within a folder will appear when clicking a group.

02. Filter

You can filter items by specifying conditions under Filter.

03. Action

Clicking the icon next to each group reveals the following action items:
 

  • Assign/Unassign
  • Edit deadline
  • Edit access period
  • View settings

▼Assign/Unassign
The following window will appear.
Click Assign or Unassign.
If you want to apply this action to all folders under the course, tick the box.

▼Edit deadline
The following window will appear.
Select either No deadline or Edit deadline.
When you select the Edit deadline option, select the Cowntdown start date and Deadline from the calendar.

▼Edit access period
The following window will appear.
To add an access period, click + Add access period.
*For more details, refer to Access period.

▼View settings
The following window will appear.
Each tab displays the detailed configurations for the selected group and content.

04. Bulk actions

You can perform batch updates for across multiple groups at once.
*For more details, refer to Bulk actions (Manage content assignment).

User

The User tab allows you to review and manage the settings of target users under your content assignment permissions.

01. UI display overview

For each user, you can review the content assignment status, deadline, access period, etc.

Note

▼Assigned status
You can view the assigned status for the selected course and the number of content assiged.
Each status is as follows:

  • All assigned
    *For content, Assigned will appear.
  • Partially assigned
  • Not assigned

 

▼Deadline
The Deadline column includes the course deadline status, countdown start date, and deadline.
Each status is as follows:

  • Before deadline
  • Countdown start date expired
  • Deadline expired
  • No deadline

*If settings have been configured for your group, a link will appear; click it to view the settings.

  • Scheduled

  • Unlimited

*If settings have been configured for your group, a link will appear; click it to view the settings.

▼Direct user settings

*Since access periods cannot be set per-user, it is displayed as --.

Note

Clicking on each user in the Users tab will display the settings within the course or folder.

04. Bulk actions

Search by group/user

When you select the Search by group/user tab, the following page will appear.
You will find the Group and User tabs.
 

Group tab

You can manage group settings in this tab.

01. Select group

Groups under your permissions will be displayed.
You can also perform a keyword search or view archive groups.
Select a group first.

02. User interface

For the selected group, each assigned status, deadline and access period applied to each content will be listed.

Click the next to each piece of content to display the menu below.
 

  • Assign/Unassign
  • Edit deadline
  • Edit access period
  • View settings

The following window will appear.
Click Assign or Unassign.
If you want to apply this action to all folders under the course, tick the box.

▼Edit deadline
The following window will appear.
Select either No deadline or Edit deadline.

▼Edit access period
The following window will appear.
To add an access period, click + Add access period.

User

In this tab, you can view and manage the settings for users under your permissions.

01. Select user

Users under your permissions are displayed.
You can also search by keyword.
Select a user first.

05. Bulk actions

For a selected user, you can bulk update content assignment and deadlines.

Bulk actions

Click Bulk actions to export content assignment settings as a CSV file, or upload a CSV file to add or delete items in bulk.

Required

Permission of Content manager (Assign) for all users and all content

Export content assignment settings in bulk

Click Bulk actions.
Click CSV export to download a CSV file containing all detailed assignment data.
*Items are exported in order of creation date, newest first.

Importing content assignment settings in Bulk

Click Bulk actions > CSV content assignment.

▼Download CSV file
First, download the CSV file you'll be using for data entry.
Select from three configuration types:

  • All content assignments: Exports all current settings, starting with the newest.
  • Unassigned courses & folders: Exports courses and folders that have no assignments, matching the display order on the Manage contents page.
  • Blank template: Downloads an empty CSV template.

▼Edit CSV file
Edit the downloaded CSV file.
Configure the following four items.
*Other fields are updated automatically by the system and do not need to be configured.

  • Action
  • Group code
  • Login ID
  • Content code

1. Operation
Enter one of the following options:

  • add: Add an assignment
  • delete: Remove an assignment
  • Blank: Make no changes

2. Group code
Enter the code if you are assigning content to a group.
*Tip: Enter #all to assign to all users.

3. Login ID
Enter the user's ID if you are assigning content to a specific user.

4. Content code
Enter the code for the course, folder, or content item you want to assign.

Note

Refer to the CSV template items and configuration displayed on the screen for detailed instructions on editing the file.

▼Upload CSV file
Drag and drop your edited CSV file into the dotted area, or click Choose File to browse and upload it.
Once uploaded successfully, click Save.

If an error occurs, fix the issue and click Retry upload.
You can toggle Show only errors to view only the rows containing errors.

Note

Uploads containing more than 1,000 settings will be processed in the Background.
