Edit Course Menu

The following is an explanation of the edit menu that appears on the "Course Management (Beta)" screen by right-clicking on each course or by clicking on the "︙" icon.

Note

With content management viewing privileges, only the following two menus are displayed.

  • Content URL
  • Information
Contents

Edit Basic Course Information

Basic information such as course thumbnail images and titles can be set together.

Duplicate

Required

Management role of Content manager (Edit for all content)

You can choose one of the following

▼ Reproduction
You can duplicate the course.
The duplicated course is not the same as the original course from which it was duplicated.
The content can be edited independently of the duplicate source, and grades are saved as a separate course.

▼Duplicate (shortcut for teaching materials)
You can duplicate the course.
However, the content inside is not duplicated, but created as a shortcut.

Convert to folder and move

Courses can be converted to folders and moved to other courses.

The following pop-up will be displayed.
Select the desired course from the "Course to move to" pull-down menu and click "Move".

Create course shortcuts

You can create shortcuts to courses.
This saves the user the trouble of creating multiple identical courses.

Memo 1)

Shortcuts does not affect server capacity.
When the source content is edited, the changes will be also reflected to the shortcut.
*Content assignment and Access period are customizable for each shortcut.

Memo #2

Grades from the shortcut source and courses created by the shortcut are treated in the same way.
When you study a course created by a shortcut, the grade of the shortcut source will also be reflected in the grade of the shortcut.
 

Content assignment

Required

Content Manager (Edit/View + Assign)

This function allows you to limit the number of users who can take a course, either on a group or individual basis.
*The function here is,Manage usersIt can also be set by

Group assignment

Click on the empty space and select the group you wish to assign.
Click again to deselect.
To assign to all groups, select "All Users".
If you want to apply the same assignment to folders in the course, "Apply the same assignment to the lower level folders." Tick the "✔" box.
Finally, click "Save Group Assignment" to complete.

Individual assignment

Tick the users you wish to assign.
Users can also use the "Refine Your Search" feature.
Groups can be searched in the search bar.
Selected user(s) will be listed at the bottom.
Click "Untick Allocation" here to un-tick the user.
If you want to apply the same assignment to folders in the course, "Apply the same assignment to the lower level folders." Tick the "✔" box.
Finally, click "Save Personal Assignment" to complete.

Access period

Required

Content Manager (Edit/View + Assign)

You can set the duration for which the course will be open to the public.

Badge

Badges can be set for courses.

Display settings

You can show/hide a badge on the user interface.
Tick the box to show a badge.

Set badges

Select a badge from the list.
You can also create a new badge.

▼ None
No badges will be given.

▼Create a new badge
You can create a new badge.

▼Use an existing badge
Select the badge from the list.
 

Content category settings

The content category set for the badge will be displayed.
*For more details, refer to Manage badges.

Interlocking content

You can set grade requirements for specific content and have the course appear only to users who meet those requirements. This allows for settings such as a follow-up exam for those who fail a test.

First, click on "+Add Settings".

The following contents will be displayed.
Clicking "Open" will take you to the content management screen, where the course containing the content in question will be displayed.
*Courses and folders cannot be selected as the source content.
 In addition, please select the content of the course concerned and another course.

Study Status: Select the conditional grade status.
Number of courses: Select "Reach the maximum number of courses" if you wish to add a limit to the number of courses as a condition.
Save the settings.
*To delete a condition once set, click on "Cancel Current Settings".

Course size limits

Required

You can limit the amount of data that can be registered in a course.
*For more details, refer to  Course size limits.

 Convert to specified version

Content in a course can be converted to the system version set in Generator Version Management.
The following pop-up will appear. Please tick the content you wish to convert and execute.

Content URL

The following actions are available:

Copy ▼URL
You can get the URL of the course detail screen of the target course.

Access ▼URL
You can move to the course details screen of the applicable course.
If it is outside of the open period or if the content does not meet the open conditions, such as linked content settings, the user will be redirected to the screen for selecting a course.

IP address restriction

Required

Content Management Editing Authority + Content Allocation Authority + Settings Page Access Authority

Restrictions can be set so that only certain IP addresses can access the course.
*For more details, refer to Manage IP Restrictions.

Information

Move the cursor over the course to see information such as the date and time the course was registered and who registered.

Memo

If the selected course is registered as a curriculum/training or a product/seminar, it will be displayed as follows, respectively.

  • List of Curriculum and Training Uses
  • List of products and seminar use

Also, when clicked, the following pop-up will appear.
In addition, clicking on the link titled in the pop-up will bring up the administration page for the registration destination.

Delete

Required

Management role of Content manager (Edit for all content)

Courses can be deleted.

Note

All folders and content in the course, as well as any associated content (shortcuts and diagnostic test transcripts) will also be deleted.
